Created as an alternative to higher priced liveaboards, La Galigo caters to friends and groups looking for world-class diving experiences in a relaxed and comfortable social atmosphere. And, you’ll find no shortage of creature comforts despite the lower price tag! This vessel’s Indonesian crew boasts decades of experience sailing and diving around the Indonesian Archipelago, helping to provide high levels of service at great value for money.
Guests on board La Galigo can expect smooth sailing, and all the comforts of home - even during longer voyages. When you aren’t underwater, you’ll spend your days relaxing in spacious and well-appointed ensuite cabins, dining on delicious chef-prepared meals, getting to know your fellow guests in the generous restaurant and lounge, or soaking up rays on the beautiful sun deck. This vessel is also one of the few traditional phinisies that includes a purpose-built, sea-level dive platform ensuring every day of diving is both comfortable and hassle-free.
Onboard La Galigo
This traditional sailing phinisi was designed specifically for cruising in some of Indonesia’s most remote regions. With three cabin types, you’re guaranteed to find a room that suits your budget and personal travel style. Three delicious buffet-style meals are served each day, featuring an exotic blend of Western and Asian favourites. You’ll also find unlimited coffee, tea, and snacks here, as well as beer and wine for sale. The lounge is furnished with an entertainment centre, library, and plenty of power points for charging laptops and photography equipment. Head above deck, and you’ll find plenty of room in the sun or shade for relaxation and al fresco dining.
Diving from La Galigo
La Galigo was purpose-built for divers and is one of the only wooden liveaboards with a dedicated dive platform at the back of the boat, providing ample space to kit-up, prepare camera gear, and access the tenders. Full equipment rental is available on board including dive computers, SMBs, reef hooks, and torches. Take the plunge in some of the planet’s most biodiverse waters, with up to four tanks a day, as well as night dives on offer. Guests can also make the most of speciality diving courses, nitrox, and plenty of hands-on support and guidance from an expert crew.
